Herstory (unfinished)

1976

I was born in Grafton, North Dakota

My dad was in the Navy, so within a few weeks my mom and I were on a plane, flying to meet him in Spain.

We lived in Spain for four years, where my brother (Chris) and sister (Alicia) were born.

1981

The family was transferred to a naval base in Bar Harbor, Maine.

I attended school at a 4 room school house.

I fell in love with Jesus at Awana Club.

1983

7 years old, moved to Arizona (moved 5 times, all in Mesa and Chandler)

1989/90

My parents divorced.

My mom remarried.

14 years old. My mom gave birth to my youngest brother.

1991 - 1994

Moved to a trailer park in Tempe with my mom and 2 siblings my sophomore year.

Moved into spare room at Grandma's house with my best friend during senior year. 1st time paying rent.

Graduated from high school at 17.

Turned 18, attended classes at Mesa Community College.

Moved into an apartment in Tempe with my best friend.

1995

19 years old, moved to Seattle

1996

20 years old, started school at Seattle Central Community College

Met a group of impoverished Christians, threw away everything i owned, & left to travel w/them.

1996 - 1999

Traveled the U.S. doing missionary work. Stayed in Chicago twice, San Francisco twice, Pittsburgh, D.C. , New Orleans, NYC, and Atlanta. Visited lots of other places.

1999

23 years old- left the Christian group.

Visited friends and family in Arizona and Florida with Marcy (another girl from the same group).

2000

Spring: Hiked the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail w/Marcy. Met a group of people who asked us to drive their heavy equipment in a van and meet them every night along the trail so they could "slack pack" with just the daily essentials on their back. They paid us $3 a day, each. :) Drove along the A.T. from the Carolina's to Maine. 

Fall: Marcy and I visited friends and family in North Dakota, Montana, and Arizona

2001

Traveled to Athens, Ohio alone.

Visited friends in Seattle and decided to try and settle down.

Found a job that moved me to Hawaii for 4 months.

2002

Traveled to Seattle, NYC, and back to Ohio.

Spent a year in Colorado with other people who had left the traveling, Christian missionary group.

2003

November: moved to North Dakota to reconnect with my dad.

2005

Spring: came back to Arizona and started massage school.

Moved 4 times (living in Mesa, Chandler, and Tempe)

2006

Graduated school. Became a licensed massage therapist.

Started working at a chiropractor’s office.

2007

Moved to Tucson, worked at a massage salon

2008

Spring: went through a rough break-up and moved back to Phoenix.

Fall/Winter: moved back to Tucson, started work at the Food Conspiracy Cooperative

2012

Moved to Oklahoma
